The Erasmus+ Youth Mobility project, specifically focusing on Youth Exchanges, is designed to support groups of young people from different countries to meet, live together, and engage in activities around themes that are relevant and interesting to them. These exchanges, which can last from 5 to 21 days, aim to foster mutual understanding, tolerance, and non-discrimination among participants. They encourage the active involvement of young people in the planning, preparation, implementation, and follow-up of the project, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and diversity.

Youth Exchanges are committed to environmental sustainability, urging projects to adopt eco-friendly practices and educate participants on reducing their environmental impact. Digital transformation is also a crucial element, with the program supporting the incorporation of digital tools and methods to improve the quality of activities and make them more accessible to participants with fewer opportunities.

To participate, projects must involve at least two organizations (one sending and one receiving) from different countries. The exchanges are open to young people aged 13 to 30 and aim to include participants from a variety of backgrounds to ensure a rich, diverse experience. The preparation and planning stages are critical, requiring a thoughtful approach to participant safety, engagement, and learning outcomes.
